Where I’m From

Where I am from tells a lot about who I am as a person Where I am from tells a lot about who I am as a person. I am from Owenton, Kentucky, which is where I grew up. I have lived in the same house my entire life, which is unique in my opinion. My home holds a special place in my heart; after all, it is where all my childhood memories were made. I grew up on a farm, filled with cows and horses. While many may believe this is a weird way of life, I take pride in my “country living.” Also, my hometown church, First Baptist Church of Owenton, is where I grew as a Christian. Without this church, I honestly believe my faith would not be as strong as it is today. All four of these “locations” have made me who I am. I am proud of these places that have shaped me into the person I am today. I know this is the place I will always call “home.”

My Hobbies

Everyone has unique hobbies, but I take pride in mine Everyone has unique hobbies, but I take pride in mine. I grew up playing golf and fell in love with the game. Although this was something I played in high school, I have continued to play it as I entered my collegiate years. Scuba diving is also something I am extremely passionate about. My grandpa and I have made some amazing memories traveling the world and diving different shipwrecks and reefs. Also, my grandpa is a personal pilot and has his own plane. I am currently working towards receiving my pilot’s license. This is something that will be interesting to do when I am older. Lastly, my family is a football oriented family. The football field in my hometown is named after my great grandpa, and that is something I take pride in. Without these hobbies, I would not make the memories I am able to make, as well as be able to develop the friendships I have. These tell a lot about my “outside” life and what you will find me doing in my spare time.

Relationships

Growing up, I was always told that relationships were the most important things you could make. My family is one of the most important things in my life. They are my biggest supporters and always have my back. Without them, I would not be the person I am today. Next, my boyfriend is who I spend the majority of my time with. He is my best friend and is someone I can confide in. He is without a doubt my biggest cheerleader. My friends are also people I am extremely thankful for. They keep me sane and have given me memories that I will forever cherish. Lastly, my relationship with Jesus Christ is extremely important to me. Through this relationship, I have been given the opportunity to join a mission team and travel to Haiti for a mission trip. This is something I am have dreamed about since I was a little kid. I am especially thankful for all of these relationships, because without them, I have no idea where I would be.

Technological

Technology is a huge part of our lives in today’s society Technology is a huge part of our lives in today’s society. My computer, the MacBook Pro, is something that is essential, especially being a college student. This is where I complete the majority of my school work, as well as surf the web. Also, social media sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram allow me to stay connected with all of my friends, and even those who I may not know. Being able to relate to people through the Internet can be a great thing. Technology has allowed me to form relationships with many different people. Both of these things are a huge part of who I am.

Fashion

Being a girl and being in college calls for Fashion 101 Being a girl and being in college calls for Fashion 101. Although it is tempting to attend my classes without brushing my hair, fashion is a huge part of who I am. My Michael Kors Purse is one of my prize possessions. I am in love with all six of my purses I have, and carry them everywhere I go. My life is in my purse. Also, my Fit-bit is something I am passionate about as well. This allows me to keep up with my fitness, as well as give me something that can be fashionable, depending on the outfit. Lastly, Hunter boots are my favorite pair of shoes I own. These are meant to be rain boots, but can be worn at almost any time, rain or shine. Being fashionable is something that is important to me, making these three artifacts extremely important to me.

My College Experience

My college experience tells a lot about my current life My college experience tells a lot about my current life. Around a year ago, I moved to Lexington, Kentucky and began my college career. I have almost completed my freshman year at the University of Kentucky. University Trails, which is pictured on the left in the previous slide, is the apartment complex in which I reside. This is what I like to call my “home away from home,” because let’s be honest, there is no place quite like home. Living on my own has been an adjustment to say the least. Lastly, Commonwealth Stadium is also important to me. This is where I spend the majority of my Saturdays during the fall. The tailgate parties, as well as attending the football games, are such a great experience; and have allowed me to make many memories. The three artifacts listed in the previous slide have allowed me to grow, not only as a student, but as a person as well.

All in all, these are twenty artifacts that best explain who I am All in all, these are twenty artifacts that best explain who I am. All of them are important to me, and tell a specific story about who I am as a person. All of these artifacts have helped shape me into the person I am today, and for that, I am thankful.
