3 Let the light of Christ shine in our lives
Gather The Lord be with you And also with you Let the light of Christ shine in our lives

4 Receive After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’  If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.  “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

5 Engage DEVOTE YOURSELF TO THE COMMUNITY AROUND YOU AND DEVOTE YOURSELF TO SOMETHING THAT GIVES YOU PURPOSE AND MEANING ABOUT LIFE AND ITS COMPLEXITIES- MITCH ALBOM

6 Engage Video suggestion ...
Community Means to Me Some discussion ideas … How can we build a secure community? How would your picture of a  perfect community make others feel? Are communities always good places? Discussion techniques - Go back to the Bible passage ask “How does the theme link with the Bible passage?” Discuss the question in pairs for 30 seconds then invite a response from each pair. Use quick-fire answers e.g. throw a soft bean bag / toy to a student, when they answer they throw it back and you quickly throw to another student. Simplify the question - Invite quick one-word answers, write them on the board, then reflect on the answers – see connections.

7 Respond Amen Dear Lord, help us make a perfect world for everyone,
[Reflect for a minute on the worship theme and our engagement …] Dear Lord, help us make a perfect world for everyone, Where anyone can join a caring community and be away from harm. Help us to understand what a true community is and why we need them. We pray that everyone in the world learns how to work in a community so that different cultures and races can live together in harmony and peace. Amen Prayer / reflection technique – Give a summary of the theme and any responses that students may have made, then invite everyone to be still (remind no books open etc – lessen distraction). To pray or reflect on today’s worship. Be quiet for one minute. Then say the prayer …

8 Go out into the world with the light of Christ
Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God Go out into the world with the light of Christ
