Star Wars: Archetypal Theory Reflection Questions Why do we continue to tell & re-tell the hero’s journey over & over? What purpose does it hold in our lives/society? Why are we drawn to these stories? What is it about Star Wars that makes the story/popularity endure over time? (consider similarities & differences with Hero’s Journey tradition)

Archetypal: Symbols and Characters Choose two archetypal character, object or image to focus on. Divide the chart paper in half and answer the following questions for each archetype. Write the definition of the archetype according to the packet. Brainstorm two examples of this archetype from different types of media. (Short stories, fairy tales, movies, mythology, novels etc.) Analysis: Discuss the possible purpose of this archetype. What does it teach, show, illuminate about the human experience? Why is it an important piece of collective knowledge?
