NURSERY Expectations… In our class we want your children to achieve their very best; We have high expectations both in the children’s work and their behaviour; We set a high standard so each child can reach their full potential.

What’s happening this year? Topics: Autumn Why do leaves go crispy? How does that building stay up? Come and See RE topics: Domestic Church, Baptism, Confirmation Advent and Christmas

Topics Spring Why can’t have chocolate for breakfast? Are eggs alive? Come and See RE topics: Local Church, Eucharist, Lent and Easter

Topics Summer How many colours in a rainbow? How many pebbles are on the beach? Come and See RE topics: Pentecost, Reconciliation, Universal Church

How our day looks like? Register and milk and snack Phonics – RWI Continue Provision Literacy Maths Home time

‘Show and Tell’ Demonstrate some simple ‘Show and Tell’ - each Friday children are allow to bring something from home to share with friends (toys, pictures, certificates etc.) Its help children to develop practise good speaking and listening skills.

Homework Homework consists of: Practice writing letters Maths subject Art/Topic subject RE Homework will be set every Wednesday To be brought back in every Monday

Reading Books Every child has a reading book and reading record To be taken home once a week on Monday and brought back to school the following Monday Reading record needs to be signed either at school or at home so new book can be issued

Behaviour We expect excellent behaviour in class no matter who is leading Playtime and lunchtime behaviour should be consistently good and respect shown to lunchtime supervisors Parents will be contacted if behaviour is a concern * Behaviour and sanction pyramids

How parents can support us Ensure you child comes to school as often as possible. Arrange family holidays within school holidays Make sure your child is in school on time. Learning starts as soon as your child comes into the classroom at 9:00 am.

Quick reminders... School hours: School starts at 8.45am and finishes at 11:45pm Contact details: any changes need to be given to office Correct school uniform and shoes should be worn at all times

Communication… The school has an up to date web site A weekly newsletter is sent every month Important events and reminders via a text messaging service Questionnaires sent to parents
