It’s a Toys Life Around the World Let’s go on Safari We have included science topics on the information sheet Other topics – you will be further details on the Parents and partner letters Year 2 concert – you will be sent further details I’m King of the Castle

4 You will receive a letter every half term informing you of the topics the children will be covering in class.

5 Behaviour As a class, the children have created their own rules to make the classroom a safe and happy place to learn. Rewards Praise Stickers 3. House points 4. 6 Routines P.E. both indoor and outdoor kit should stay in school for the full half term. Children will need pumps and trainers. Tuesday will be our P.E day with activities on the other days. Please label all clothes. Reading - All children will now have their reading book and the record. We will be reading in small groups based on book bands. Flexibility – See Newsletter for Details of Week Ahead Whiteboards outside class will give key information as well as text messages.

7 We will be providing a homework folder.
Home school links Homework- Maths and English homework will be based on class work. The homework will be sent home on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday. Spellings will be linked to the Read, Write, Inc Scheme and will then move on to the new National Curriculum for spellings. Spellings will be taught and practised in school. There will be no spelling test on a Friday. Guided reading will be on a Tuesday and Thursday when the children will receive a new book. We recommend children read for 10 minutes each day and there is lots of questioning and discussion around the text. We will be providing a homework folder.

8 Any Other Information Water Bottles- sports cap and water only.
Healthy Snacks- for playtime or toast. Jewellery- No jewellery to be worn Tissues- if you can spare a box now and then we would be very grateful. Open Door Policy Friends of Bleak Hill- New members always welcome Contact information- Please update. Water bottles – clear bottles, with names on for Health and safety reasons Names in clothes – please make sure names are in all belongings Tissues – bring a box Open door – any problems please see us , Friends of Bleak Hill – very welcome raise lots of funds and provide equipment come to meeting tomorrow – have a glass of wine Parents always welcome to help
