Class Teachers Timetable PE Water bottles and snack Communication with parents/carers Timetable – class teachers decide how to arrange their week, however planning and topics are shared across the federation so children will be looking at similar material across the week. This is differentiated to ensure appropriate support and challenge is posed for all the children. PE – (as with previous years!). Kit should come in on a Monday and be taken home on a Friday as PE times can change across the week. Kit should include a change of clothes and shoes. NO EARRINGS. Each class will have 2 PE sessions a week, one by the specialist PE teacher and one by the class teacher. Water bottles and snack – Each child has a named water bottle in the classroom. Children can have a piece of fruit or similar at breaktime, reminder that TM and Fawcett are entirely no-nuts school. Communication – most letters will come out via parentmail, unless the office has been informed that a paper copy has been requested. Homework will include a brief overview of what the children will be learning each week. Please remember to check the calendar as a number of dates. School website is up and running!

Year 5 Expectations Handwriting and presentation Independence Responses to feedback Behaviour High expectations for handwriting and presentation – handwriting will be taught multiple times a week using the federation style. Children will be expected to take great pride in their work and how they present this. UKS2 children are expected to develop a greater sense of independence and understanding of their own learning than in LKS2. Encouraged to identify their own next steps, and successes, and those of their peers; identify and use resources to support themselves independently; show a greater interest in the world around them and conduct their own independent research on issues that interest them; consider more deeply how to be a good citizen. Children respond to weekly feedback using a purple pen, identifying their next steps. Will have a target times table and targets for each literacy unit to encourage them to progress. Whole school behaviour routines continue – three core rights of the child, house points system, warnings!

6 The Trumpington Federation
Children will receive one piece of homework a week, on a Wednesday, which is due back on the following Monday. Reminder that children should use their Mathletics account for regular maths practise. Reading record…. New homework sheet with points based system…
