Since 2010 Demonstration phase Scaling phase Funding awarded to 226 projects Over 5,900 people being provided with individualised supports in the community Over 11,000 families, carers & staff attended information & training events Demonstration phase In 5 years Genio managed government funding of €24m which leveraged & unlocked further €32m in resources from projects supported Scaling phase €45m Service Reform Fund (€15m Atlantic / €30m Government). Working with Department of Health in Ireland; Health Service Executive; & the Atlantic Philanthropies Helped secure a further €26m from Government & Atlantic for implementation of dementia strategy

SCALING REFORM STRATEGY CHALLENGES Identify & learn from best practice Design service reform on the basis of evidence of what works best Build demand for reform amongst people who use services Identify counties best placed to reform services to reflect best practice Monitor & evaluate county-wide reform Find, support & evaluate ‘best-in-field’ exemplars - take account of international research Get buy-in from key stakeholders* to support scaling reform Identify & capacity-build strong movement of self-advocates Support reform process with facilitation, training and finance Feed lessons learned to key stakeholders & support nationwide reform SCALING REFORM STRATEGY CHALLENGES *Stakeholders include: people who use services, their families & carers / politicians / policy makers / service commissioners / service providers
