ENGLISH LANGUAGE You’ve probably heard this before. English is: Very idiomatic Changes a lot, adds new words Borrows a lot of words Why you should learn: Most widely spoken second language in the world 450,000,000 speakers worldwide Two dominant countries: Chinese and English

CLASS Oral: pronunciation Idiom: non-literal language Usage: correctly use your vocabulary, know who you’re talking to Expression: English communication not limited to words Vocabulary American culture
