You don’t need to take notes for this part – its all written on the paper I’m handing round. The Course As in the second year, the English course is based on a combination of legal knowledge and language skills. So on one hand you will study aspects of American and English law. In the first semester we will study Constitutional rights and criminal procedure in the USA. There is a class handout which contains the course content, you will need to bring this to every class. As you can see, as in L2, there is a facts section at the start of the chapter - this is the information that you will need to know for the exam. In the second semester, we will be looking at English law and the English legal system. In the exam you are required to know the course, know the facts that we will study. As you move through the years at Assas the content of the English classes becomes more and more important, you will not pass the exam if you do not know the content.
