2016 Campaign Dates: September 19 through December 31 What is CFC? CFC is the only authorized solicitation of the Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations. The CFC began in the early 1960’s to coordinate with the fundraising efforts of various charitable organizations so that the Federal donor would only be solicited once in the workplace and have the opportunity to make charitable contributions through payroll deduction. Federal employees continue to make the CFC the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world. Illiowa Bi-State region raised $383,520 in 2015 for local, national and international charities Do you all know what CFC is? The information from this chart is on page 6 of the CFC charity brochure. It explains that the CFC is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations. It began in 1960s. We are part of the Illowa Bi-State Region and raised $383,520.00 last year. The Illowa Bi-State Region is listed on page 4 of the brochure and the Illinois and Iowa Maps are provided on the website. 2016 Campaign Dates: September 19 through December 31

2016 ILLOWA Bi-State CFC GOAL 2016 Campaign Goal 2016 ILLOWA Bi-State CFC GOAL “100 percent ASK!” $400,000.00 Our Campaign Goal is to contact 100 percent of the employee personnel.

2016 Campaign Theme Promotes the individual choice of donors to support personally relevant causes, while emphasizing the benefit of participation in a collective effort Highlights the generosity and strength of the Federal workforce This year’s campaign theme is Show Some Love.

Role of the Key Worker

2016 Key Worker Goals Ensure 100% ASK! with all employees Increase number of donors and amount of gifts Increase awareness about the impact of CFC on our community Engage employees in the campaign with new creative ideas Protect donor information and privacy Key worker goals Talk to everyone – ensure everyone is asked if they would like to donate, by doing this we hope to increase number of donors and amount of gifts We need to protect the donor information

Here’s How Make a personal commitment Contact your assigned co-workers Thank your donors Here’s how Pledge your own gift so you can learn the process and set an example to others Contact your assigned co-workers Distribute pledge forms in person Inspire the donor to give, share a personal experience if you have one Explain the process and show campaign information from the brochure or the website Check for accuracy of completed forms Thank your donors – distribute donor gifts

Making the Ask In a national study, 800 Federal employees were interviewed: 70% said they would donate to CFC Only 49% gave that year The Key Worker never made “the Ask” Employees are more likely to give if asked. This chart is showing they Key Worker never made “the ask”

Giving Options and Regulations

Give by payroll deduction, cash, or by check Ways to Give Give by payroll deduction, cash, or by check Payroll deduction via My PAY Federal employees who have My PAY are able to pledge through the My PAY Website. Payroll deduction – Pledge Form For recurring gifts, spread across 12 monthly installments for the military or 26 pay periods for civilian employees. Check or cash For one-time gifts Ways to Give You can give through payroll deduction for recurring gifts Or through cash or check for a one-time gift

Ways to Give Designated Undesignated Confidential gifts Use the 5-digit charity code Undesignated Distribution made in the same proportion as charities receiving designations Confidential gifts Place in a sealed envelope to Pledge Form Carrier Ways to Give Use the 5 digit charity code found in the brochure If you do not put a code in, your money will be distributed to all organizations listed in the CFC Charity List in the same proportion as they received designations. For example : If Gildas Club received 90% of donations and 10% was provided to Habitat for Humanity then this is how the undesignated funds would be distributed. If no one contributed to Gildas Club then 0% would go to Gildas Club. You can also give confidentially, this would be done by the donor enclosing copy #1 and #2 in a sealed envelope and the envelope would be provided to you (then the org chair and ultimately to the campaign coordinator (Rick Widdel) who would handle it from there

Personal Choice Select your charities of choice from CFC’s comprehensive list of more than 2,500 approved charitable organizations using: Catalog of Caring Printed catalog of charity list with sections for local, national and international organizations Not distributed to every employee; donors can request copy from Keyworker Online Charity Search Searchable online database Sort by name, keyword, location, administrative overhead rate, CFC code number or service category (e.g., health, disaster relief, education) Accessible 24/7 at www.illowacfc.org ALL-AROUND GIVING 2016 donation option that permits donors to pledge to a participating charity no matter where the donor is geographically located List of A-AG charities is ONLY located online (MY PAY & EEX) Enter the charity’s 5-digit code on your paper or online pledge. Each key worker will be provided a charity list/brochure, this information is also located on the Illowa Bi-State Website. We do not distribute a copy of the brochure to everyone, the donor just needs to know they can locate the information on-line or ask their key worker. Recommend doing some of your own searches on the website and become familiar with the searches
