Member Services Meeting July 14, 2017 Agenda Member Services Vision, Mission, Goals, & Strategies “What is AZ Water to YOU?” Brochure / Display Board Upcoming Events Leadership Retreat Meetings w/ AZ Water Committees New / renewing / lapsed member (re)welcome process

Member Services Vision / Mission The Member Services Committee's vision is to expand AZ Water's membership and support the other committees in this collaborative endeavor. Mission: Review and continually develop new recommendations to increase membership and retention of AZ Water water and wastewater professionals. Highlight and enhance the value of being an AZ Water member by helping AZ Water and water professionals advance their careers and build trust, inside and outside the water industry.

Member Services Goals Support the AZ Water Business Plan Strategic Objectives and Actions with special emphasis on: Maintain membership database Develop new member onboarding and existing member retention plans. Develop a "Value of AZ Water" brochure and convey the importance of AZ Water membership. Collaborate with AWWA/WEF representatives to grow reciprocal memberships Develop and implement an outreach plan(s) potential traditional and non-traditional members. Engage / support existing AZ Water Committees; develop strategy to link members not serving on committees with committees of their interest. Develop and prepare articles for the Kachina News. Member Services Growth & Development Plan (2016/17) Reconcile AZ Water Membership database (done) Survey Membership (done) Draft / Finalize Membership Tab on AZ Water website (50% complete; done … today) Obtain water utility info w/ ACC & ADEQ for pot’l new members (50% complete - ADEQ list obtained … only names / emails) Develop & implement outreach plan to non-traditional members / enhance to traditional members (25%) Establish schedule for formal membership drive & host membership events (regional approach) Examine if new structure should be adopted (fees / categories / corporate involvement incentives) Grow Member Services Committee … diversity of experience / sectors / disciplines / geography / skills / outreach capabilities Executive Director’s Goal – 1500 new members in 2017

Member Services Strategies Provide a forum for members to become more involved in AZ Water. Organize bi-monthly committee focus teleconferences and create an open committee encouraging past presidents, past AWWA/WEF representatives, AZ Water Executive Director, committee leaders, young professionals, interested members, and Board liaison to participate.  Develop and maintain appropriate information on the AZ Water Member Services Committee website.

Committee Update Suggested Presentation: 2017 AZ Water Association Leadership Retreat July 28 – 29, 2017 Tucson, Arizona Committee Update Suggested Presentation: In order to provide a bit more structure to the committee chair updates at the leadership retreat, one suggestion is to provide a template for those chairs to populate information about their committee. This will hopefully prevent various styles, handouts, and information from one committee to another.
