Presentation transcript:

Depth of Field Objective: to photograph a subject with a foreground and background, giving a better understanding of aperture and its relation to depth of field. Depth of field refers to the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp. It varies depending on camera type, aperture and focusing distance. The smaller the opening (F-stop 22 or 16) more will appear sharp (in focus)

Assignment: Refer to the project handout for details. Take 2 pictures of the same subject 1 at a small opening f-stop 1 at a large opening f-stop

Think about your vanishing point and focal point. Large f-stop opening (1.7, 2.8 or 4) Small f-stop opening (22, 16 or 11)

You still need to focus your lens on your focal point/ subject. Large f-stop opening (1.7, 2.8 or 4) Small f-stop opening (22, 16 or 11)

Think about your perspective and camera angles Large f-stop opening (1.7, 2.8 or 4) Small f-stop opening (22, 16 or 11)

What f- stop might you select to create these images?
