Manner of articulation is the way in which a speech sound is produced by the speech organs. Diphthong refers to a union of two vowel sounds. Consonant cluster is a sequence of two or more consonants. Assimilation – When a speech sound changes, and becomes more like another sound which follows or precedes it.

Stress - The pronunciation of a word or syllable with more force than the surrounding words or syllables. Homonym – Words which are written in the same way and sound alike but which have different meanings. Synonym – A word which has the same, or nearly the same, meaning as another word.

Antonym – A word which is opposite in meaning to another word. Collocation – The way in which words are used together regularly. Idiom – An expression which functions as a single unit an whose meaning cannot be worked out its separate parts.
