EPF MAP October 2016 35 member organisations 20 countries

WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN PASSENGERS’ FEDERATION? founded 2002 the European umbrella organisation of national and regional passengers’ organisations financed by its member organisations representing passengers’ views at the European level dealing with all modes of public transport such as local transport, railways, buses, aviation and maritime transport

Introduction EPF is insisting on the role of railways in a European mobility policy for economical and ecological reasons from the passengers‘ point of view There is a need of voluntary policy from European institutions and Member States promoting rail, while lots of Member States are closing lines or/and reducing services There is a clear necessity of concrete measures favouring/encouraging modal shift towards rail EPF is strongly disappointed after the publication of the EU communication on decarbonisation (modal shift not mentioned)
