Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Class! Art History Theater Production Children’s Theater Drama

Who Am I? This is my 15th year of teaching at OPHS I majored in theater and history in college and minored in speech and fine arts. I have two masters degrees I am married I have 2 cats

Teacher Expectations/Classroom Rules Enter the class on time and ready to learn! Be Neat (no graffiti) No Food, candy or beverages (other than water) Be Nice No unauthorized cell phone use

Enter the class on time and ready to learn: Be on time Be prepared If you have to go to your locker to get something you forgot or you need to go to the restroom at the beginning of the hour; you are not on time.

Be Neat No graffiti Throw out your trash If you leave papers on my floor you will no longer get papers returned to you

No Food, Candy or Beverages No eating in class Only water No candy No food (not even closed) If you bring food or beverages into class you will be asked to take them to your locker

Be Nice No swearing No disrespectful behavior Be kind to each other and to me

No Unauthorized cell phone use Phones must not be seen or heard Exceptions: If you are a parent, if you are responsible for an adult in your life.

Must Bring Daily: Notebook Folder Something to write with (pen/pencil) Pencil (Art History only)

Bellwork/Exit Tickets When you enter the class each day, complete the following on a piece of lined paper. Your Name Date Bellwork Question & Answer Exit Ticket Question (if there is one) Bellwork/Exit Ticket Name: First Last Date: Bellwork Question: Bellwork Answer: Exit Ticket Question: Exit Ticket Answer:

Bellwork/Exit Ticket Continued At the end of class, answer the exit ticket question you wrote down at the beginning of the hour. Bellwork/Exit Tickets are due every Friday. Keep in Mind: Don’t waste paper, use the whole sheet, if you need more than one sheet after using the front and back, staple them together when you turn them in at the end of the week.

Grades Grades will be posted twice a month. (You may also check daily on Student Connect) If you have questions about your grade approach me NICELY, and we can talk about it.

Performances-Drama Performances will happen at least once a week (usually 2-3 times a week). It is expected that: Your performances will be memorized Performed with the standard performance techniques

Performances Continued-Drama/Children’s Theater You may use: Anything that is in the prop cabinet or you bring from home. Nothing on my desk.

Performances Continued-Drama/Children’s Theater Late Performances: You can always perform a performance late for full credit… To do this, you must: Create a video of the performance, upload it to youtube, send me the link.

Audience Rules-Drama/Children’s Theater What is expected of you as an audience? Be polite Pay Attention Clap when they are finished
