What time does school begin? Breakfast is open from 8:20- 8:40. Breakfast is free. Our day begins at 8:35. Students will line up in the gym. We start morning routines and activities at 8:40. Students will be marked tardy at 8:55 Please be on time.

What do I bring to school? Bring a: Backpack Packed lunch is optional, Milk is 50 cents. School lunch is free. Cell Phone: if your child has a cell phone it must be in their school bag and turned Off. Pencils, not mechanical. School supplies are on the next slide.

What School Supplies do I need? None…However if you wish to donate to our classroom please bring…. Pencils, erasers, pencil boxes, scissors, glue sticks, Crayola crayons, markers, tissues, yellow highlighters, dry erase markers. Second graders use lots of these supplies.

What should I not bring to school? Toys, large or pocket size Electronics Trading cards Footballs Make-up Paper tablets, large or small. Water bottles

What do I wear to school? Uniforms are to be worn everyday except announced Dress Down Days, Picture days, or District approved events. Tops: collared shirts in navy blue, light blue, or white, PSD Spirit wear. esp. WE ARE POTTSTOWN Bottoms: Pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers in khaki or navy blue. Turquoise is an approved color. Sweater shirts and sweaters: Appropriate for school.

What if I am absent? Write an excuse note and return it with your child on the day he or she returns to school. After 3 days without an excuse note the absence becomes unlawful. After 7 total absent days a notice will be sent home stating all further absences need a doctor’s note upon return other wise the absence is marked unlawful. After 5 consecutive days of absence a doctors note is needed to return to school.

What kind of snacks may I bring to school? Franklin Elementary School is the reigning CHAMPION in the regional healthy school competition. We will continue our AM physical routines, healthy movement breaks, and healthy snacks. Special events, birthdays, celebrations, etc. Please choose fruit, veggies, cheeses, pretzels, crackers, cereal (low in sugar), etc.

FOF- Friends of Franklin This is our Parent- Teacher Organization We are in need of new membership. Please stay tuned for meeting dates and opportunities to get involved. Great opportunity to raise funds for our school.

What is Franklin’s Fab 5? The Fab 5 is a discipline plan to help students make good choices while staying focused on learning in a safe and productive environment. I will be safe. I will be responsible. I will be positive. I will be respectful. I will be involved.

Will I have homework? Yes. Students have homework Monday through Thursday in math and spelling. Spelling and Reading tests will be on cycle day 6 most of the time. Homework will be sent home in a folder. Please return it in that folder. Responsibility is the important part of homework in second grade.
