Policies Dismissal: Homework Policy: According to the Scott School handbook, students who will be absent for an extended amount of time will be given makeup work & a sheet with instructions upon their return. Birthdays: We celebrate school wide with name shared on morning announcements. In class, student receives a birthday pencil and we play a game. (Treats not allowed) Dismissal: Students will need to have one way to get home, such as bus, day care, or parent pick up. Should plans change, then a note needs to be brought to school with your child, not an email.

Policies Continued… Volunteer Policy: Snack Policy: Any parents or guardians wishing to be a room parent, volunteer either in the classroom, or attend class field trips must complete a background check through the EVSC. This form can be located at www.evscschools.com under the Volunteer Info tab. This must be completed at the beginning of each school year. Snack Policy: Students may bring in bottled water and a small, healthy snack like a granola bar or apple. Sweet treats like candy, donuts, or cookies are not acceptable. Also be conscious of food allergies of other students…No nuts or peanut butter.

Policies Continued… Absences: Dr. Appointments: Vacations: Please call attendance line to let Mrs. Luker know your child is ill or at doctor appointment. Student gets 1 day for each day absent to make up work. Homework is not given ahead of time. Dr. Appointments: Please try to schedule appointments after morning block ( 9:05-11:25) as these contain core subjects. Vacations: Please try to coordinate dates with our holidays, or at least not during testing times.

Please stay informed of your child’s progress by checking on-line periodically. You can go to – http://rdsteach.evsc.k12.in.us/rdsparentaccess/ Graded work is your child’s receipt. I highly suggest keeping graded work in a box at home until the grading period is over. Should you have questions about an assignment/grade, please feel free to contact me right away. Extra credit is given periodically, so be sure to take part when it is offered. Late work is accepted, but points will be taken off. I do not take any late work the last week of the grading period. I also take 1 point off for papers without names.
