3 Keys to Success Put your child to bed early
Make sure your child is at school and on time everyday! Play with your child Read with and to your child daily Check the blog and daily take-home folder and ask your child about his/her day Promote independence and responsibility (take-home folder, walking in, packing up, homework, and behavior choices)

4 Math Counting to 120 Place value-making numbers with ones and tens
Graphing Adding and subtracting without fingers Talking about Math and explaining Mental Math Number Talks

Complete sentences, best spelling, and nice handwriting Beginning, middle, and end

Report Card Overview Your child will be graded using the number scores of 1, 2, 3, and 3+. 3 + = Exceeds Standards - In addition to the 3, makes applications and inferences beyond expectations (This level is very rarely achieved due to the rigor of our standards) 3 = Meets Standards - Consistently and independently 2 = Progressing toward meeting standards (This level is common as we are still progressing towards meeting our standards) 1 = Limited progress or does not meet standards

8 Parent/Teacher Communication
Sign up for the Class Blog: Sign up for Seesaw: Your child’s online portfolio and message reminders. Individual sign ups will be coming home the first week of school.

9 Homework: Students will not have homework. This does not include reading. The expectation is that your child would read ~20 minutes, including with you and independently. Students will be provided with books that are on their level for reading at home. RazKids

10 Daily Take-Home Folder
Please look at daily. Take out any papers to be kept at home. Sign any papers return if needed. Any changes in transportation should be put in the front pocket so that I receive it. Include behavior calendar

11 Transportation All changes should be written and sent in the daily folder in the mornings Please try not to make changes during the day changes will not be accepted

12 Classroom Management Students have a behavior chart to show their conduct throughout the day. Students will receive rewards/consequences based on their choices. Students are responsible for their own behavior.

13 Daily Schedule Will be posted to our class blog Specials: 9:05-9:55
Recess: 10:20-10:40 Lunch: 12:54-1:24

14 Snacks and Celebrations!
Please remember to send in healthy snacks. Students will not be able to eat chips or cookies at snack time. Water bottles are encouraged. Birthday treats can be sent in. Please send in one variety of treats and don’t forget the napkins. They will be passed out during lunch. Please me at least 24 hours in advance. Some suggestions include cookies, donuts, fruit kabobs, etc.

15 Important Information
School begins at 7:50 Breakfast: (until 7:35) $1.25 Lunch: $2.10 (12:25-12:55) Join us anytime.  Please do not bring any outside food. ASP: until 6 pm, $10 registration fee, $7 per day Library: We will go every 1-2 weeks for story and check out. Specials: The website home page has the schedule and where we go each day.
