Classroom Happenings: Week of 9/15/2017 Dear Parents/Guardians, We are off to a great start in third grade! The students have done a super job learning new routines, enjoying exciting activities, and making new friends. Thank you so much for completing all of the paperwork that comes with the start of a new school year!  Additionally, thank you so much for sending all dismissal changes by written note rather than email.  This helps us and the front office to keep all the changes organized. We greatly appreciate your help with this!   We will be sending news about class happenings and important dates every few weeks. Classroom Happenings: Reminders: Reading  - finding just right books - making connections, predictions - retelling a story Read Aloud: Stone Fox  Writing & Language Arts - new vocabulary -content words (ask about hypothesis, expanded form, and data)  - personal narratives Math  - temperature and telling time to the nearest minute (we will revisit these units later in the year) - place value *Please use the study guide to prepare for our first test on 9/20 Social Studies  - what makes a community  - rules and laws -diversity Science  -Matter PE: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays *Please have your child wear appropriate shoes on PE days.
