1 Classroom News Shared Reading
Mrs. Amazeen’s Classroom Newsletter September 26, 2016 Classroom News This past week’s highlights: We’ve had a lot of fun learning about different ways to sort and have enjoyed going to our sorting math centers. We practiced sorting by color, shape, size and type. We compared the story of the Three Little Pigs and The True Story of The Three Little Pigs. We recalled the stories events and created a class pictograph on who’s story we believed, the wolf or the pig. Students worked very hard on their Nursery Rhyme journals. We choral read the nursery rhymes together, searched for sight words in the text and created illustrations. Shared Reading Shared reading is a part of our daily schedule. Each week we focus on a poem and work together to read the poem, identify sight words, ask questions and decode the text. I will be attaching a copy of the poem that we have been working on the previous week to each newsletter. Please read the poem with your child & have them read it to you  Dates to Remember Monday 9/26 Monday “Shark” folders sent home Tuesday 9/27 Monday “Shark” folders return to school Wednesday 9/28 Fun Run Pep Rally!
