Alumni Career Programs College Alumni Outreach Quick History Alumni Career Programs Partnership UCLA College Alumni Outreach Alumni Career Programs Started in 2011 INITIAL GOAL: Connect students with alumni for career exploration and mentorship Partnership UCLA Launched in September 2012 INITIAL GOAL: Engage College of Letters & Science alumni in showcasing how students can connect academic learning to real-world practice Partnership UCLA and Alumni Career Programs, together under Alumni Affairs Merged in June 2015 COMBINED GOAL: Offer unique and innovative programs to support the professional development continuum from student to post-retirement for the entire UCLA community KD

Alumni Career Initiatives Our recent alumni career survey indicated that the top three things alumni are looking for in regards to career support are: Job leads from the UCLA Network Networking Opportunities Career resources and virtual tools Our solutions: Create an interactive, online community exclusive to UCLA Create industry and regional networking opportunities for alumni of all career levels Expand our mentor program to include peer-to-peer alumni mentoring Leverage technology to elevate job leads within the UCLA community Develop online and in-person sessions to provide alumni with relevant career information Partner with a successful, cost-effective career coaching company to offer customized career support (InsideTrack) KD

Mentor Program The UCLA Alumni Mentor Program enables alumni to share their experience and expertise with UCLA students   Mentors provide valuable insight on a number of important topics: Academic Guidance: course selection, study skills, graduate school planning Career Advice: job shadowing, resume critiques, interviewing tips, general career guidance Personal Development: networking, hobbies, recreation, cultural/ethnic sensitivity BJ
