KPMG university mentoring program Welcome to attendees, thank you to the host, and introduction of yourself Overview of the program Program has continued to grow and expand starting with St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) over a decade ago. Currently the program is in: STAC; Ramapo College; William Paterson University (WPU); and Montclair State University (MSU). Over the next year, the program will increase to include Pace University and Rutgers University. There are over 150 active mentor-mentees teams. Ask those attending if they have or have had mentors. Mentoring involves an experienced person who advises or helps somebody with less experience. It is a two-way relationship (not one-way like a coach). Mission and strategy KPMG university mentoring program overview Mission statement To provide students with supportive and motivational relationships with mentors who are dedicated, thoughtful business leaders, enabling students to achieve greater competence (academic and non-academic domains) and an increased level of self-reliance. Strategic objective To provide continuous guidance and support in an effort to increase the probability and efficacy of students’ goal achievement, including successfully completing their college education. 2015 program overview Reminder: Participating in the KPMG University Mentoring program is not a way to a KPMG internship and/or permanent job. It might provide networking opportunities that could open doors to those possibilities though.
