OREO Format Opinion: Make a statement out of your opinion Reasons: Tell why Examples: Tell how Opinion: State your opinion

The first “O”:Create a Great Hook Ask a question Paint a picture Make a bold statement This is the topic sentence.

“R”: Reasons Use a polite tone Use exciting adjectives and adverbs Give specific reasons

“E”: Examples Tell a personal story List more than one example, if possible

The second “O”: Opinion Give your opinion on the topic. The ending repeats the lead statement or “hook”.
