Teacher Evaluation Timeline SY 2013-14 BTU Evaluation Dates Staff Review of Evaluation Process By September 30th Initial Planning Conference By October 15th 1st Formal Observation By December 2nd ** Note: On page 10 of the PBES Handbook, it states that "If any due date falls on a non-work day, the due date is the next day." Midyear Performance Review By January 15th 2nd Formal Observation By April 1st 3rd Formal Observation (optional) By April 15th Professional Responsibilities *Classroom teachers only Ineffective/ Unsatisfactory Annual Evaluation Notice By May 1st *Ineffective rating applies to classroom teachers only Annual Evaluation By one week before teacher’s last day of work

SLO Phase 2 Field Test Process: Overview and Timeline REVIEW STUDENT DATA Teachers review data about their students, including any available Datalink information and prior formal and informal assessments. (January) DRAFT AND SUBMIT SLO Individual teachers or teams of teachers draft and submit their SLOs. (January 31 - February 14, Submit by February 14) SLO APPROVAL Evaluators review and approve proposed SLOs (or request revisions) and meet with teachers (as appropriate). (February 14-28) MID-SEMESTER REVIEW (OPTIONAL) Teachers review progress on their SLO targets with their evaluator. (April) SLO SCORING Teachers submit SLO results to evaluators, evaluators review data and score SLOs. (May 30 - June 16) REFLECTION Teachers and evaluators discuss progress and implications for next year’s SLO(s). (June, Summer) 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 minute We are going to briefly review each of these steps

2013-14 Calendar for SLO Ambassadors November 11, 2013 Initial SLO Ambassador training November 11-22, 2013 SLO Ambassadors draft their SLOs By November 22, 2013 SLO Ambassadors submit their SLOs to their evaluators for approval November 22 – December 11, 2013 SLO Ambassadors work with their evaluator to revise (as needed) and finalize their SLO December 4, 2013 Webinar #1 for SLO Ambassadors December 18, 2013 Webinar #2 for SLO Ambassadors December 2013 – January 2014 First school-site training: introduction for all teachers (approximately 30 to 45 minutes, time and venue of school’s choosing; materials provided by City Schools) By January 6, 2014 SLO Ambassadors resubmit SLO, if needed (based on City Schools review) January 10, 2014 SLO Ambassador training for January 31 PD January 15, 2014 Webinar #3 for SLO Ambassadors and school leaders January 31, 2014 Facilitate systemic PD day for teachers on writing SLOs January – February 2014 Support for teachers as they write student growth goals February - June 2014 Ongoing support for teachers, as needed Spring 2014 Feedback from SLO Ambassadors on Phase 2 May - June 2014 Support for teachers as they submit student growth evidence for final SLO submission
