Early Registration Information for academic advisers

2 Early Registration Begins in April 2018 for fall 2018
Registration dates and times will be assigned next week Students will receive an to view their assigned registration date and time in WebPortal Students that have an active graduation application do not receive a registration date/time for a future term

3 Early Registration What business rule(s) are not changing?
All registration holds must be cleared prior to registration EX. WPA hold EX. Undeclared major hold Tuition and fees or financial aid deferment are required

4 Early Registration What business rule is changing?
During early registration, students will be able to register for their fall courses, regardless of meeting course eligibility or not

9 Course Eligibility Enforcement of course eligibility Warnings Enforced
Students that do not meet course eligibility are flagged on the class rosters Enforced Students that do not meet course eligibility are permitted to enroll in the course during early registration They receive a warning message that indicates their enrollment is “contingent”

16 Confirmation of course eligibility
Confirmation of course eligibility occurs at the end of the semester prior In May 2018, final grades are submitted Registration will close Confirmation of course eligibility for fall 2018 classes occurs Class rosters are updated with students’ eligibility, contingent flags are removed as appropriate Students not meeting requirements for courses with enforced requirements are dropped from courses; students receive messages

17 Registration re-opens
Registration will re-open to allow students to make additional adjustments to their fall class schedule Previous registration business rules apply: students will need to meet course eligibility to register for classes

March 2018 Focal Advising month  Students are able to register for summer 2018 April 2018 Students register for fall 2018 (with new early registration business rules) May 2018 Spring 2018 grades are posted Registration will close for 4-5 business days to run end of term, registration, and evaluations jobs Students’ course eligibility is confirmed; those not meeting eligibility for courses with enforced requirements are dropped from courses Fall registration opens (with previous registration business rules), and students can continue to make schedule adjustments through the fall schedule adjustment deadline. September 2018 Fall schedule adjustment deadline is on September 10, 2018 October 2018 November 2018 Students register for spring 2019 (with new early registration business rules) December 2018 Fall 2018 grades are posted January 2019 Spring registration opens (with previous registration business rules), and students can continue to make schedule adjustments through the spring schedule adjustment deadline
