4 TRAINING 1. All administrators/appraisers must be trained on T-TESS.
2 Returning administrators must have successfully completed their T-TESS Recertification prior to school starting. 3. Each campus must provide a T-TESS Teacher Refresher that is approximately one hour in length. Please use the T-TESS Teacher Refresher presentation available on the Staff Development Department webpage. 4. New Teachers will be trained on T-TESS at the New Teacher Academy; August 9th and 10th. 5. Teachers hired after the New Teacher Academy (mid-year hires) who do not have T-TESS Training will be required to attend training with the Staff Development Director. One training will be offered each month based on need.

5 GETTING STARTED  1. Returning teachers review the goal(s) established at the EOY Conference. Teacher and Administrator determine if changes are needed, and submit within the first six weeks of instruction (September 30th). New teachers should be guided through the goal setting process with their campus administrator to be completed within six weeks of their T-TESS Training. 2. A presentation on goal setting is on the Staff Development webpage for your convenience. 3. Administrators are expected to calibrate with their appraisal team prior to conducting Formal Observations. CALIBRATIONS Teacher volunteer It does not count Teams of 2-3 administrators Compete by September 26th and before any formal observations have occurred

6 EVALUATION COMPONENTS
1. Pre –Conference will be held prior to formal observation. 2. Observations may not be conducted during the first three weeks of instruction, during the last twenty days of instruction, on the day before or after a school holiday, on days scheduled for end-of-semester examinations or on days scheduled for STAAR/EOC/TAKS or other standardized tests. 3. Observations may not take place until two weeks after the teacher has completed T-TESS Training. 4. Post Conference will take place no later than 10 days from the observation (48 hours after observation is preferred). 5. Administrators should have all End of Year Conferences/Summative completed and signed by May 10, 2017 (15 days before the last day of instruction). Other dates will be sent out on annual Appraisal Calendar.

7 WALKTHROUGHS 1. Six formal walkthroughs will be held throughout the year. 2. Walkthroughs will be based on district-identified areas and on teacher targeted areas. 3. Walkthroughs will be housed, shared and monitored via Eduphoria Appraise. 4. Walkthroughs and other evidence that may influence the teacher’s final scores must be shared in writing with the teacher within 10 workdays of the appraiser’s knowledge of the event.
