All Pre and Post Assessments for use with SLO’s must be submitted by June 15th.
A Student Growth Committee is being formed to:

Some of the SLO Template can be filled in prior to the school year.
Please save everything in your SLO folder on the Staff shared Drive
2-4 SLO’s per ODE, but only 2 needed for next year; should reflect majority of your schedule.
Can only fill in some parts of SLO template (Interval of Instruction, Standards and Content, Assessment, Can begin to set standard Growth Targets )

This is the template and checklist combined into one document
This will be filled out for each SLO
Baseline data is the analysis of your pre-assessment of students.
It cannot be filled out until you pre-assess your students in the fall.
Trend data is the analysis of this group or other groups of students’ progress over time.
You may have trend data if you have assessed your students in a similar method in the past.
If not, you would not have trend data next year and should write that.
You will have trend data going into year 2.

6. Student Population:
Write about # and key demographics of students that impact growth
I.E. IEP students, ELL, another other factor that impacts growth
Interval of Instruction:
How often and for how long does your class/course last
Only consider until SLO will end (by early April) so that all information can be submitted to evaluator by May 1

7. Standards & Content:
Aligned to CCSS or other state standards
Discussion of Big Ideas connected to an assessment framework
Assessments:
Assessments based on Big Ideas outlined in assessment framework
Approved by committee
How long is the test, what types of questions, how was it developed
How does it provide stretch for all learners

8. Growth Target:
Write targets for growth for all students
Can be tiered to show different amounts of growth based on pre-assessment data
All should be rigorous yet attainable
This will eventually transfer into the SLO scoring template
Growth targets will originally be set by teams or departments when appropriate

9. Rationale:
Describe what led you to make the decisions about why you set the growth targets
Aligned to building and district goals (i.e. see OIP—college and career readiness, CCSS, etc.)

Fill in background information and student data
Add student baseline scores (from pre-assessment)
Add growth targets from SLO
Add final scores (from post-assessment)
If they met growth target = yes
If they did not meet growth target = no
Calculate % of students that met growth targets (yes’s) to determine overall rating

Using the matrix, this give the teacher an overall summative rating of proficient
