“The Monkey Eating Eagle.” Philippine Eagles “Bird King” “The Monkey Eating Eagle.” By: Marissa Anne

Appearance The Philippine Eagle is 75-100 cm tall, and can weigh up to 20 pounds. The Adult Philippine Eagle has dark brown feathers, with a fluffy white chest. This Eagle also has yellow feet and a beak that is arched. While in flight, the wings are broad and rounded, and has two legs.

Locomotion The Philippine eagle can fly very fast, although no information was ever recorded on the maximum speed this animal could fly. The Philippine Eagle has to fly quickly because some humans try to kill this endangered animal when they are not suppose to. Killing a Philippine Eagle is against the Philippine Law.

The Philippine Eagle feasts on small animals living in the trees. Diet The Philippine Eagle feasts on small animals living in the trees. This Eagle’s diet includes mostly flying lemurs, some squirrels, snakes, civet cats, hornbills, bats, and monkeys.
