Read Ch. 8 introduction (8.1), read 8.2 & 8.3 and answer the questions in your ONLINE ISN notebook. You do not need to answer questions for the Geo. Challenge online or the introduction (already completed in your paper ISN; Begin online reading notes starting with section 8.2. Save your answers. HW: None…unless you have late work. Finish your ISN cover this weekend! I will be grading them on Monday!

Chapter 8 Preview: Group Activity Count off into 13 groups – remember your number Go to your assigned group In your table groups, discuss radio stations that you like (1-2 minutes) . Agree on ONE radio station that you think the class should listen to (2-3 minutes). Vote if you have to. Have a back up station. Next, take 2-3 minutes to come up with a proposal to make to the class with reasons as to why the other groups should vote “yes” on your radio station. Write this on your paper.

Chapter 8 Preview: Group Activity Proposal and Voting Process: Groups will propose their station to the class. Jot down the groups/stations and which you like, don’t like, or are undecided on. This will help you to make a final decision at the end. After all the presentations, the groups will discuss and make a final decision. Each group has ONE vote for the proposed radio station we should listen to. The station with 9 or more votes wins!

As each row is revealed, copy it on your own T-chart on page 97 of your ISN. Class Experience Articles of Confederation Congress was composed of 13 states. Each state had one vote in Congress. Congress dealt with many problems, such as how to develop the western lands acquired by the United States in the Treaty of Paris. Congress failed to resolve disputes between states over taxes and boundaries. Many citizens were concerned that the government was too weak. The class was divided into 13 groups. Each group of students had one vote. Students tried to choose a radio station to listen to. The class failed to choose a station to listen to. Some students became dissatisfied and frustrated.
