PURPOSE OF PREVIEW:
After the war, Americans were challenged to create a stronger national government that also preserved citizens’ rights and the proper role for their national government. Although most Americans admired Britain's stability, they did not want to create a monarchy. Most also realized that without some form of national government, anarchy might develop.
