Computer-Based Testing All grades and subjects on the computer this year except for: FSA Grade 3 Reading FSA Writing Grades 4–7 Grades 5 and 8 Science Paper-based accommodations
CBT Certification Tool 2016–17 Memo sent 8/26 No certification requirements for Fall and Winter. Both Pearson and AIR certifications required for Spring. Tool will be open from 11/7–12/16. District-wide AIR Infrastructure Trial required, prior to 2/10.
AIR/FSA
AVA Practice Tests Audio content for ELA Reading practice tests now available in AVA. Users must be assigned the AVA role to access the site. Practice for both students and test administrators. Operational content will only be available during test windows.
New Secure Browser Download the new secure browser for your desktops. The new version was released on 8/9. Do not upgrade operating systems until you have checked that they are supported by AIR.
New TIDE Interface Send us feedback. Participation Reports and Test Completion Rates are now in TIDE (RIP ORS).
TA Interface No major changes. Different colors for different subjects. Retake assessments will be a separate category. For spring, separate approvals: Students entering session initially Students requesting exit approval

Headphones Plug them in before Secure Browser launches. Volume control now on Sound Check page. Students will need headphones for both sessions of CBT Reading (may be field test items). We can tell you which sessions the audio passages will located in for PBT (for use with AVA).

Text-to-Speech and Voice Pack Use of the Neospeech VW Julie voicepack is strongly recommended. Used by FDOE reviewers to verify pronunciation. Only available on Windows. If students are using other platforms, may come across pronunciation variations. (TA can clarify.)

Session Set Up Create Proctor Cache Prepare Start Unlock
Undo Submit Districts can now undo test submissions. Tests must be in Completed or Marked Complete. Students should return to the session the same day. Districts can still call FDOE or Pearson as needed.
TestNav App Update All desktops and mobile devices using the app must upgrade to version 1.5 prior to Fall EOC. The new version was released on 8/8. Check this year’s system requirements on the TestNav 8 support site: https://support.assessment.pearson.com /display/TN/System+Requirements
