13 TIDE Updates and New Features 2016-2017

14 Updated TIDE Interface

15 TIDE Reminders Additional Orders
Materials for Fall EOC, Fall ELA Retake, and Winter EOC need to be ordered through the Additional Orders feature. This includes Test Administration Manuals and Work Folders for the upcoming Fall EOC administration. Student Eligibility Students need to be uploaded/added into each administration to be eligible for testing. Student eligibility is updated nightly when uploading students. Student eligibility is updated immediately when adding students manually.

16 Printing PreID Labels PreID labels MUST be affixed to student test and answer books. All PreID labels for Fall and Winter administrations will be printed through TIDE. The following slide reviews the steps to print On-Demand PreID labels.

17 Expand Student Information Task and select View/Edit/Export Students.
Select criteria and search for students. Select students, click on the print icon, and select PreID Labels. A separate window or tab will open. Select the subject and the start position for printing the labels and select Print. Save and/or Open the PDF file generated with the selected student labels. Print the PDF on the labels provided by DRC.

18 Printing Test Tickets Test Tickets should be printed for all CBT students. Test Tickets can be printed by following the same steps provided on the previous slide for printing On-Demand PreID labels, except select Test Tickets after clicking the print icon. Test Tickets can also be printed using the Print Test Tickets task found under Administering Tests. Test Tickets can be printed from a Student List or from a Roster List.

19 Invalidations and Requests
The ability to create, upload, and/or approve invalidations and requests will begin on the first day of the test administration window and end on the last day of the test administration window. DACs and CBTs can create invalidations and requests. DACs can approve only: Re-open a test and Re-open a test session requests. Pending requests will be indicated on the TIDE homepage with a number in red. The issue with test status of “processing” rejecting requests has been addressed. Regardless of test status, requests should be created without issue.

23 Secure Browser Updates

24 iOS 10 Release iOS 10 release date is unknown but will likely be in early fall. Fall EOC opens 9/12 Fall ELA Retake opens 10/10 AIR has been working with a beta version and intends to support iOS 10 this school year. AIR must wait for the full version to complete its testing. Typically, we can support a major iOS release within 30 days. It is possible that iOS 10 will be released in the middle of the test window. You may not be able to roll the device back to a previous version. In anticipation of an iOS 10 release prior to the end of the Fall EOC, please consider turning off auto-update: Settings  iTunes & App Store  Updates  Off

25 Chrome OS The FSA runs on versions 49–52.
The current Chrome OS is Version 53 is in Beta. Version 54 is in Dev. AIR will automatically support “point version updates” (e.g., when the OS updates from to These point releases are minor and occur often. It is good practice to upgrade your OS to the latest supported version prior to the testing window and then turn off “auto-update” until the testing window is over.

26 FSA Reporting System

27 FSA Reporting System Downloadable Data Files (DAC users only)
Password Requirement – Additional layer of security Zip Software that supports encryption is required (e.g WinZip, 7- Zip, Peazip) FSA Help Desk can direct you to where you can find this software.

28 FSA Reporting System Late Reporting
Wave drop-down will only appear when there are late reporting results available for your district

29 FSA Reports Packaging – Paper Reports
For Spring 2017, reports will be packaged in boxes (no envelopes), 1 school per box. For Fall/Winter/Summer administrations, reports will be packaged in envelopes (same as 15-16) Shipping/Tracking In Spring 2016, UPS was the sole service provider for shipping paper score reports. Districts receiving palletized shipments reported poor service. AIR is working with UPS to improve its quality control procedures, and is exploring using an alternate freight provider. Pallets are only used for shipping Spring paper reports. In Spring 2016, districts receiving more than 10 boxes, or if the district uses route codes, had their reports packaged on pallets.

30 FSA Reports – USBs PDF file naming convention
Student Last Name will now appear first for easier sorting
