What is the Book Club Program? Book Club Program, also referred to as LAP (Learning Assistance Program), is a Washington State-Funded program that provides additional academic support to eligible students. LAP funds at Creekside Elementary are used first to target reading intervention for students in grades K-2. LAP provides supplemental reading support to selected students All elementary schools in the ISD receive 0.4-1.0 FTE for LAP teachers. Creekside is allocated 0.6 for our LAP program.

What is the Book Club Program? (slide 2) Small groups of students meet for 30 minutes of additional Guided Reading Instruction Students in LAP may not miss classroom literacy instruction (Reading, Writing) Students may exit the program when Based on district assessments, the student is meeting standard and no longer requires support Parent(s) request that the student be exited
