Monday Day 1 Objective & Bell Work Objective- Day 1 The Student Will: connect the task and new content to existing knowledge, skills, experiences, interests, and concerns with cyber safety/bullying. The student will demonstrate effective keyboarding skills by learning new keys. Bell Work Day 1 Monday Pre-Bell Activity: Typed your name into Google? Were there any results about you? (Allow students to provide examples of what they found and write results on Bell Work Sheet and share.

Monday Daily Agenda Complete Prebell Assignment Introduce Lesson/Module and purpose. Begin 1st Mini Lesson-20 mins. Place posters with the letters "A," "B," "C," and "D" in the four corners of the room. Give each student the handout with statements.  Provide them with time to answer and give their reasoning.   It may be helpful to model how to do this for the class before they start.  If you decide to do so, begin by deciding the degree to which you agree with the statement, talking through this decision.  Then, define "reasoning" and complete a think aloud in which you develop and record your own reasoning for selected the response you chose. Explain how student will move to the letter that matches their response in the classroom. Read the statements aloud, allowing time for student movement.  Students will move around the room to stand under the letter that they most agree. Once students have moved, call on students to share their reasoning for why they chose that response. Keep statistics of students choices and post them for students to view. Begin Edu Typing Lesson for today—Work on for 20 mins Wrap up lesson with a review question concerning cyber bullying

TUES. DAY 2 OBJECTIVE & BELL WORK Day 2 Objectives: The student will: analyze the prompt for this module and break it down so we know what we’re going to be learning about the cyber bullying unit. ability to identify appropriate texts by using resources for research. demonstrate effective keyboarding skills by learning new keys Bell Work Activity Day 2 Describe how people‘s information online can be helpful or harmful to a person’s reputation and image. Explain.

Tues. Day 2 Daily Agenda Begin Bell Work and discuss answers. Review lesson from previous day and introduce today’s lesson. Students will complete Pre-Test on Cyberbullying on Canvas-Log In Students will complete -Link on Stop Cyberbullying- See Teacher Web Site Begin Mini lessons 2 -20 mins Read / share important background knowledge about the unit/module with your students.  Explain to the class that the goal of this unit/module is to write text for a brochure in which you explain forms of cyber-bullying and learn more about what can be done to be safe online. Support your discussion with evidence from the texts. After completing this learning process, they will write text for a brochure on cyber-bullying.  Pass out Prompt Reflection Sheet and guide a class discussion about what each part of the prompt means. Use questions like:  What will you have to do to successfully answer this part of the prompt?  What do you need to learn to be able to do this?  What parts of this seem easy / what parts seem hard?  Review the reflection sheets and read them over so you have a good sense of how well each student understands the task – provide additional feedback and support as necessary in the following days. Begin Mini Lesson 3 20 mins. 1. Pass out the "Resource Citations Guide." Project the example on the board as well. 2. Demonstrate for students how to find the required citation information and where to record it. Students should complete their own handout as you demonstrate on the board. 4. As a whole class, record the article students will read.  Walk students through each step. 5. Students should complete the citation information on their worksheet. 6. Closure of lesson with a review

Wed. Day 3 Objective & bell work Day 3 Objectives: The student will: identify vocabulary terms essential to understanding a text on cyber safety. select important facts and passages for use in one’s own writing. demonstrate effective keyboarding skills by learning new keys. Day 3 Bell Work Activity: Filling out a form, sending an email to a friend, posting a photo, and pretty much everything one does online – even the simple act of visiting a website or using a search engine – leaves a trail. This trail, called a digital footprint, is made of bits and pieces of information on one’s computer and on other computers and servers around the world, which allow other people to learn about you. What type of digital footprint that you have left online? Explain.

Day 3 Daily Agenda Mini lesson 1-Vocabulary skills Use computers to find the meanings of vocabulary words used during the cyber safety unit:   Vocab. Terms: cyber-bullying, harassing, deceiving, flaming, hate speech, digital footprint, online search, persistent, imagery, bystander, up stander, and empathize. Product: Vocabulary table For Advanced students, they will work on the cyber bullying using the Frayer Vocabulary Model. For Remediation students, they will utilize the cyber bullying with www.brainpop.com with this vocabulary concepts. Mini Lesson-2 Selecting Important facts/passages –notetaking View and discuss PowerPoint on Cyber-bullying with students. Students will watch videos, Digital Footprints, Emma's Story, Stacey's Story and Henry's Story,  on Cyber-bullying at their computer. They will also read various text resources  After watching video and reading text, students will complete a note taking table which includes a bulleted list of things learned from each. Closure: Think –Pair-Share

Day 4 Thurs. obj. & bell work Day 4 Objectives: The student will: paraphrase information into your own writing by identifying central point and main supporting elements of a text on cyberbullying demonstrate effective keyboarding skills by learning new keys. Day 4 Bell Work Activity Describe one of the cyber safety vocabulary term that we discussed this week.

Day 4 Daily Agenda Begin Pre-Bell Activity and discuss Introduce lesson: paraphrase information into your own writing. /Review previous lesson. 1.  The student will be give a three column note-taking chart.   2.  Student will read text or watch a video and create a bulleted list of important information in the first column of the chart. 3.  Student will list sources in the middle column of the chart. 4  Student will paraphrase the information in the third column of the chart.   5. Wrap up with a review
