Reading 1. What is an orchestra? 2. What is a chamber orchestra? An orchestra is a group of musicians that mostly play classical music. 2. What is a chamber orchestra? (室内管弦乐队) A small orchestra is called a chamber orchestra.

A large or full size orchestra. 3. What is a symphony(交响乐) or philharmonic(爱乐) orchestra? A large or full size orchestra. 4. Are they two different types of orchestras? Why ? No. They are used to tell the difference between two orchestras in the same city.

5. What does symphony and philharmonic mean respectively(各自)? Symphony means a long piece of music that has 3 or 4 parts of movements. Philharmonic means devoted to music.
