Suspicious People Know your neighbors (building occupants and suite-mates) Question people (especially if in certain spaces) Call UCPD (explain why you think the person is suspicious) Describe the suspicious person from head to toe Meet with the officer, if possible
Theft Prevention Keep doors & windows locked Do not leave property unattended or unsecured Ask strangers to wait in reception/common areas while you summon the person they are meeting Keep valuables out of sight
Bicycle Safety License your bicycle (required by state law) Use a high quality “U-lock” Lock both tires & frame to a fixed rack Always secure the seat Do not leave bicycles out overnight It is recommended to wear a helmet

Smoking Law Systemwide, all UC campuses and laboratories are smoke and tobacco free effective January 2014. The policy was created to improve the health and safety of all students, staff, faculty, patients, and visitors. The policy prohibits the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, snuff, snus, water pipes, pipes, hookahs, chew, and any other non-combustible tobacco product. The policy will apply to all UC facilities, whether owned or leased.
