5 ACCESS CONTROL Requirements for Entry :  NASA RESEARCH PARK: Valid U.S. Gov’t Picture ID & legitimate business purpose  AMES RESEARCH CENTER:  NASA BADGE  NASA Visitor Pass  Business Hours: M-F 0600-1700  After Hours: M-F 1700-0600, Weekends, Holidays  Military ID, Business Purpose

10 POLICE CONT’D  Random Vehicle Inspections at all gates conducted by Federal Security Officers pursuant to 14CFR and 18USC. Intent is to search for Dangerous Weapons POLICE RECORDS (4-1781) Reports Citations Investigations (4-4358 & 4-1287) Criminal Investigations Administrative Investigations Lost and Found Evidence Processing

11 DISPATCH CENTER Police & Fire Dispatch 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year Dial 9-1-1 from on Center Phones Dial 9-1-1 or 650-604-5555 from Cell Phones Non-Emergency Requests: 650-604-5416 Other Responsibilities: Alarm CCTV Monitoring

12 AMES FIRE DEPARTMENT The ARC PSO has a fully equipped and staffed Fire Department that is responsible for all: Fires Fire Alarm Responses Medical Emergencies Air Field / Aircraft Emergencies Hazardous Material spills Building Inspections and Fire Marshal Duties

13 Bicyclists must adhere to the CVC along with NASA Policies and Procedures. With Rights and Responsibility of Law (CVC 21200) Violations go to Federal District Court, same as a driver of a car. Bicycle Operation

14 Drive Your Bike Protect your head, wear a helmet. Remember, bike safety is your first line of defense. Helmets are the last resort. Always be predictable Be visible! See and be seen at all times. Lights are required by law and reflective clothing Stay away from curbs, car doors, road seams and metal grates Ride like you were driving a car Helmets are required on all NASA Property.

15 General Rules To Follow…  Bluetooth/Hands Free Device must be used while driving any vehicle on Center and in the State of California.  No Skate Boarding is allowed on Center.  ALL Bicyclist must wear an approved safety helmet while on Center.  All bicycles must have lights during hours of darkness while on Center.  If you are on the Center during hours of darkness, expect to be stopped and ID’d for security reasons.  No visitors allowed in the lodge after hours without prior approval from the lodge management, and no overnight guests without approval from your ISU Sponsor (Children, Spouse and Parents excluded)

16  NASA Lodge Quiet Hours are 10pm-6am  Stay away from, and out of, unoccupied buildings on Center.  When you go out in town do not show your NASA ID or display it on your person in public for security reasons.  Carry some sort of personal identification with you at all times on and off Center.  Keep your vehicle and lodge room doors/windows locked. Personal items should be kept out of public view.  Be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity to the police.  Reminder: this is a Federal Reservation, not a public place!
