Occupational Qualification Entry requirements, ELOs, AACs and EISA ENTRY REQUIREMENTS academic and/or practical learning, and/or work experience that a learner must have completed in order to be admitted to a qualification. Includes RPL EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES (ELO) stated in terms of the integrated assessment focus areas which are recorded in the Assessment Specifications Document. Determines whether the learner can be declared competent in terms of the occupation or specialisation. ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA (AAC) The assessment criteria reflect the evidence that the qualifying learner has to produce to demonstrate the acquisition of the required expertise and level of complexity relevant to the ELOs. This expertise reflects: Applied competence. Theoretical and applied knowledge enhanced by experience. Integrated Summative Assessment An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of occupational qualifications. The external integrated summative assessment focuses on the ELOs and AACs, and takes into consideration experience gained in the workplace. Entry requirements are interpreted to mean the academic and/or practical learning, and/or work experience that a learner must have completed in order to be admitted to a qualification. This may include recognition of forms of prior learning such as non-formal and informal learning and work experience deemed as comparable for entry. In the South African context, entry requirements also take into account the broad socio-political issue of access.
