QCTO – Quality Council for Trade and Occupations AQP – Assessment Quality Partner DQP – Development Quality Partner CEP – Community of Expert Practitioners ARPL – Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning OFO – Occupational Framework for Occupations

3 LEGISLATION National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) appointed by QCTO as AQP for all artisan trades & occupations Government Gazette 35625 National Standardised Artisan Learner Workplace and Site Approval - Changes in the roles of NAMB and SETAs National register of artisan regulations, 2015 QCTO circular 1 of 2015, AQPs liable for payment of issuing of certificate will be effective from 01 August 2015.

Agreements: (Seta office) Agreements in triplicate Medical questionnaires Certified copy of identity document Educational certificate Employment contract for 18.2 apprentices Captured on the MIS

Theory TT and N studies registered syllabi / material Examinations Practical Registered syllabi / training material Workplace experience Minimum and maximum time Qualified mentors / assessors and moderators

6 Trade Tests Trade Test request: Application form for Trade Test
- Proof of: Theoretical Knowledge Work experience Certified copy of ID (clear, valid) Educational certificates (TT or N) Proof of years of employment (ARPL)

7 Trade Tests Scheduled Trade test Assessment will be arranged by Seta
Accredited trade test centre Registered assessor Registered moderator Written confirmation from Seta Trade test serial number - compulsory

8 CERTIFICATION Application for certification Trade test application
Certified copy of Id Original Contract Theory certificates Logbook – modules signed off Trade test report Accreditation status

9 CERTIFICATION Certification process:
Company prepare application for certification Seta verification of documentation Application documentation submitted to NAMB NAMB verification and submission to QCTO

10 CHALLENGES Major challenges currently : Incomplete logbook
Theory certificates – not certified Unclear certified copies of ID’s OFO code alignments Incomplete trade test report Challenges going forward: Accreditation details of trade test centre – accredited by QCTO Assessor and Moderator registration by NAMB
