IEEE Pune Section 2016 participation AT IEEE region-10 events Dr Rajesh Ingle (Region 10, Student Activity Chair) and Mr Girish Khilari from Pune Section attended Region-10 Annual Meet at Bangkok between 5 and 6 March 2016. Eventful and internationally much happening year for WIE Pune chapter. They have successfully organized IEEE WIE International Summit Pune 2016 on 23rd – 24th Sept 2016 and IEEE International Women in Engineering Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE 2016) on 19 – 21 Dec 2016. Both events took place at Pune. Pune Section took the pride as one of the key organizers of IEEE REGION 10 STUDENT/YP/WIE/LM CONGRESS 2016 (SYWLMC 2016) during 25-27 August 2016 at Bangalore in celebrating golden jubilee of R-10. Pune Section contributed with Seed Money USD 3000 that they are receiving back on or before 31st Dec ’16. IEEE R 10 student Congress was organized at Pune on 23rd July 2016 at Zeal Education Society, in association with IEEE Pune Section and Young Professional Affinity Group. 24-12-2016

IEEE Pune Section –special events Extraordinary General Body Meeting of IEEE India Council was held at Institution of Engineers, Pune on 24th July 2016 to discuss and adopt the updates to IEEE India Council Bylaws Article III, V & VI in respect of nomination and election of officers. Prof G S Mani and Dr Surekha participated in first Knowledge exchange program of PC on smart city technology at J M Marriot, 16-17 June 2016 On behalf of IEEE Pune Section, Dr Surekha attended first anniversary celebration of announcement of Smart City Mission of Govt of India on 26th June 2016 at Balewadi. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief guest of program. Dr Surekha and Prof Mani visited Trento, Italy to attend IEEE 2nd International Smart Cities Conference along with PMC Commissioner Mr Kunal Kumar, between 12 and 15 Sept ‘16 and represented Pune Section very well. 19-12-2015

IEEE Pune Section 2015 participation AT IEEE region-10 events Dr Rajesh Ingle (Region 10, Student Activity Chair) and Mr Girish Khilari from Pune Section attended Region-10 Annual Meet at Dhaka between 6 and 8 March 2015. Pune Section owned R10 Distinguished Medium Section Award (USD 1000 Cash Prize with certificate). Dr Surekha Deshmukh, Dr Rajashree Jain, Dr Ingle and 3 student members attended IEEE Region 10 SYW Congress 2015 at Colombo between 9th and 12th July. Dr Surekha and Prof Mani attended Metro Area Workshop at Bangalore on 25-26 Sept 2015 towards the preparation of similar event at Pune in Feb-2016. Mr Girish Khilari represented Pune Section at IEEE India Strategy Initiative Workshop @ Hyderabad on 28th Nov, 2015‏. Dr Ingle received CERTIFICATE OF APPRECEATION for his valued contribution as a member of 2015 IEEE India Strategic Initiatives Task Force. Dr Nerkar attended Education Activity Board Meeting at Coimbatore 20 & 21 April 2015. 24-12-2016

New chapters & affinity groups IEEE Pune Section formed two new chapters; IEEE Education Activity Committee Prof Mani led the efforts in forming IEEE Pune Section Education Society Chapter which was formed on 23 May 2016. Young Professional Affinity Group Dr Surekha took lead in starting YP affinity group, which was started in April 2016 The next year plan to start IEEE Humanitarian Activity Committee 24-12-2016
