3 IEEE Central Texas Section Past Utilization of CTS Funding EventDescription and Impact Estimated Expenditure ($) Pizza talk (With Refreshments) Membership Drives 5 pizza talk programs by professors and experts will be hosted throughout the academic year 2013-2014. Membership drives helped to maintain and expand the current member base and allowed for larger events. 400 Engineering Socials Meetings IEEE social events such as barbeque socials will be organized to allow members of IEEE to get to know one another and promote interest in other events. IEEE Meetings focused more towards explaining goals and projects to all IEEE members. 250 Engineering Research Drive IEEE sponsored function where students can meet professors to discuss available research positions. Several students researched with professors during summer 2014. 100 Bi-monthly problem solving competition An electrical engineering problem solving competition with rewards given to the most creative solution. Problems will be posted every two weeks. 150 Professional Writing Workshop 2 Professional Writing workshops will be held by Dr. Joshua Schwartz, to teach students the tools required for technical writing. Funding will be used to cover for refreshments 100 R5 Conference Registration (Phase II) All CTS funding went to registration for the event. This opportunity provided our members with a chance to apply their design and technical skills to a creative project. Trinity IEEE students ultimately achieved 3 rd place in the ethics competition. 800 Total 1800

5 IEEE Central Texas Section Purpose of Funding l Organize interesting events in order to raise IEEE presence on campus l Increase attendance of events l Food and refreshments for students and speakers attending events. l Promote inter-class and interdisciplinary interaction with events

IEEE Meetings will be focused more towards explaining goals and upcoming projects to all IEEE members. 200 Off Campus Public EventsEvents with other engineering and science organizations in San Antonio.200 Engineering Research Drive IEEE sponsored function where students can meet professors to discuss available research positions. 125 Weekly Tutoring Sessions for Electric Circuits and Electronics I IEEE will sponsor weekly tutoring sessions for students in need of help in the Electric Circuits (Fall) and Electronics I (Spring) Courses. 125 Professional Writing Workshop Professional Writing workshops will be held by Dr. Joshua Schwartz, to teach students the tools required for technical writing. Funding will be used to cover for refreshments 50 Total 1000
