BRITISH FOOD AND MEALS BREAKFAST The traditional English breakfast has: sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, baked beans and fried bread.

But at home, people usually eat cereals, tea or coffee and toast.

LUNCH People usually have a quick, light lunch: soup, a sandwich, yogurt or some fruit.

DINNER The evening meal is called dinner or supper. People have dinner from 5.30 to 8 p.m. British eat a main course of pasta or meat and vegetables.

TYPICAL ENGLISH FOOD FISH AND CHIPS: fried fish and potatoes with vinegar. You can buy it in a “chipper”, a fish and chips shop, and eat it at home. It is the first British fast food.
