An introduction to JDM Pro Release 2.0 What’s New in JDM Pro An introduction to JDM Pro Release 2.0

New Features Dashboard Improved look and feel for all UIs User roles Content descriptions Manually upload large files Invalidate content versions Configuration status for recipients Generate URL for Trip Kit On Demand Support for upgraded browsers Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen Two-step deletion process remains unchanged from 1.8. Customers could get a 103 error if they delete a recipient, but don’t empty the Trash.

Dashboard Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Dashboard The dashboard: displays a comprehensive fleet status representing the recipients, content, and distribution groups in your company provides a quick view of your overall fleet status and a mechanism to identify and address discrepancies offers search and drilldown capabilities, so you can find pertinent information by recipient, content item, or distribution group Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Improvements on All UIs Better scaling and dynamic page sizing to accommodate desktops and mobile devices Colored icons to help the user more easily navigate their fleet, specifically on the Recipients UI and the Activity Log User sessions and notifications have been modified for a more consistent user experience Each user session is 6 hours User sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity Informational text on most UIs to support new and infrequent users Added system information to aid in troubleshooting and support efforts Pagination along with x of y of n total entries allows the Recipients page to load faster while supporting easier navigation Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Improvements on Other UIs Content UIs Removed content state to prevent users’ confusion with content version state Added content type description, associated applications, file size, and assigned distribution groups, so the user has more detailed information about each of their content subscriptions In the content Version History, added file size and publisher name to indicate eligibility for manual deletion In the version details, the user can view detailed information about the specific version and invalidate it as necessary Recipient UIs Exporting recipients includes registration URL Importing recipients includes assignments to distribution groups Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

User Roles All functionality in JDM Pro is now based on roles Application Administrator and Application Administrator, read only Dashboard Recipients Content Distribution Groups Trip Kit On Demand Activity Log Trash System Administrator and System Administrator, read only Companies Applications Content Publishers Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Content Descriptions Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Content Descriptions Additional Info During the manual upload process, JDM Pro allows the user to add a description to their content. Once the content has been uploaded, the description is saved in the Description field of the metadata file and is displayed via the Content Detail UI and the content version detail popup as “Additional Info” to help the user identify each content version. Description When the System Administrator adds a type of content to an application, JDM Pro requires that the user specify a content description that is associated with each type of content. Within the UIs, this description appears everywhere that JDM Pro displays Content Type, specifically the Content UI, Content Detail, content version detail popup, and the Content Trash UI. Manually Upload Large Files Due to browser limitations, the practical limit for manually uploading files in JDM Pro 1.8 was 2 GB JDM Pro 2.0 now processes manually uploaded files in small chunks instead of the whole file, so the browser does not time out due to inactivity. As a result, there is no longer a practical limit on file size. Now manual upload depends on how much bandwidth you have and if you can upload the file within the 6-hour user session window. As designed, JDM Pro should recover from interruptions during manual upload and resume uploading the content from the point of interruption. Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Invalidate Content Versions Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Invalidate Content Versions JDM Pro now allows Application Administrators to invalidate content versions, regardless of publisher, to prevent bad content from being delivered to their recipients. Invalidated is a new, dead end state. Once a content version has been invalidated, it can no longer be used in any way. Invalidated content can not be reauthorized, and it is removed from all affected recipients’ expected configurations. Invalidated content is deleted automatically after it has been in state Invalidated for 90 days. Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Configuration Status for Recipients JDM Pro no longer uses or displays states In Configuration and Out of Configuration. These states have been replaced. Old State New State Description Initialized Created The recipient has been created in JDM Pro. Registered The recipient has registered with JDM Pro. When the user manually unregisters a recipient via the UI, the state reverts to Created. Active  no state Removed as confusing to the users and not terribly useful In Configuration Up to Date A recipient is considered to be up to date when the expected configuration is a proper subset of the real configuration. Out of Contact Recipient has not contacted JDM Pro within the last 30 days Update Available The recipient's expected configuration has changed since the recipient last called in.  Out of Configuration Out of Date A recipient can be Out of Date for several reasons. Delete Pending The recipient has been moved to the Trash. Deleted Removed as recipients are now immediately deleted from the system when the user deletes them from the Trash. Up to Date A recipient is considered to be up to date when the expected configuration is a proper subset of the real configuration. Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Updates Available Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Updates Available The recipient's expected configuration has changed since the recipient last called in. The content version reported in the recipient's real configuration does not match the content version included in its expected configuration. The reported content version might be newer or older than the authorized version. When the recipient does not call in within 30 days, JDM Pro changes the recipient's state to Out of Contact. Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Out of Date Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Out of Date A recipient can be Out of Date for the following reasons: Expired content: Recipient reported that all content versions in the application's real configuration have expired based on the Expiration Date. Missing content: Content is assigned to a recipient in the expected configuration, but the real configuration for that application does not contain any version of that content. Generate a URL for Trip Kit On Demand In the event of a FliteDeck Pro outage or bad data, JDM Pro allows its users to generate a URL that provides access to a Trip Kit On Demand. The Application Administrators and System Administrators for JDM Pro can generate a URL that provides company-specific access to the Trip Kit On Demand application. Application Administrators can activate a URL for their own company, while System Administrators can activate a URL for all companies within the system. When a System Administrator activates a URL for a company, that company’s Application Administrator will see the URL in the Trip Kit On Demand UI of their company’s instance. When an Application Administrator activates a URL for their own company, the System Administrator will see the URL in the Trip Kit On Demand UI of their instance. At that point, the Application Administrator can distribute the URL to pilots and dispatchers as they see fit. This feature is not available in BDM. Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen Currently, Trip Kit On Demand might display “Enroute Waypoint in” as an option. This indicates that the response from C2E for disambiguation options had a blank string for “cit”' and “state.” We don’t know why the C2E database doesn't have proper values for that entry, but we recognize that Trip Kit On Demand should probably change it to something more meaningful like “unkown location.”

Upgraded Browsers To support desktop and mobile users, JDM Pro has been redesigned to support: Internet Explorer, desktop only (versions 10 and 11) Chrome, mobile and desktop (most recent version and one prior) Firefox, desktop only (most recent version and one prior) Safari, mobile and desktop (most recent version and one prior) Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen

Deprecated Features Reports Administrator Tool Jeppesen Proprietary - Copyright © 2016 Jeppesen Reporting was removed in favor of using the dashboard and the filters in conjunction with the export functionality on the Recipients and Content UIs. Since the dashboard and filters can not give the users everything they want and were using in JDM Pro 1.8, reporting will be implemented in a future release. Future reports will be based on existing filters in 2.0, and will not be generated using JasperSoft.
