School Hours The standard school day is Monday thru Friday 8:30am until 3:00pm.

Our Mission: The Dr. Herbert N. Richardson 21st Century School will foster in its students a high regard for education, the self-confidence to think analytically, act independently and strive to achieve success both personal and for the community of man.   Toward this end, The Dr. Herbert N. Richardson 21st Century School will provide both curriculum, instruction and facilities of the highest standards while striving for academic excellence by addressing the Common Core Standards and involving representatives of all segments of the school community in shared decision-making.

Important information Please insure that beginning of the year paperwork is returned quickly and completely. Emergency Cards and Photo Release forms should be returned as soon as possible and updated as needed. Please do not drop off students before 8:15am unless they are part of a before school program. All students should be picked up at 3:00 unless they are part of an after school program.

Inclement weather procedures Due to inclement weather, there may be times when the schools may be closed, the schools may have a delayed opening, or the school may have an early dismissal. If the school is closed or on a delayed opening schedule, the following list indicates the various ways that the district will communicate this information to you: Automated School Messenger System The district's main number:  732-376-6200 The district's website:  www.paps.net  Radio Station  -  WCTC AM 1450 Perth Amboy Television     Comcast Channel 34   or   Verizon Fios Channel 47 If the school has a delayed opening, please be aware of the following additional information: School begins at 10:00 a.m. for all students. If the school has an early dismissal, the list above indicates the various ways that the district will communicate this announcement.  Please be aware of the following additional information: Students will be dismissed at 1:40 p.m. All after school programs and activities will be cancelled. YMCA and other programs, not run by the school, will be cancelled by that provider, if they wish to do so.  If schools are closed, dismiss early, or cancel afterschool activities on a Friday, then ALL weekend activities are cancelled unless you are notified otherwise.
