Presentation transcript:

Contact form LAW Click the web link In this presentation we will show you how you can submit a question to the Education Office using the online system ‘Contact form LAW’, We will also show you where you can find all information on education at our Law Faculty, And we will show you where you can find various IT manuals, for example the one to connect to the UM WiFi network to get your laptop, tablet or phone connected. Always start in the Student Portal: Go to the UM website: “http://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl” Go to the MyUM link (top right) and login as student Click the web link

Click the UM Launchpad link After logging in you enter your personal Student Portal Homepage. From here there are 2 ways to go to the Contact form website (on the Faculty Intranet for students): Either via the UM Launchpad ór via Help. Let’s first show you the first way. Click the UM Launchpad link

Under the General UM links you will see a link to the “old” MyUM. Click the MyUM link

Unfortunately you have to log in again here. Type your username (e. g Unfortunately you have to log in again here. Type your username (e.g. i1234567) and your password. Then click the Logon button. Click the Logon button

You now enter the old MyUM environment, where you can still see your UM registration status under Admissions in the (marked) Top Menu. From here you can also go to the Faculty Intranet for students using the My LAW link. Click the My LAW link

And here we are: first of all you will find here ALL information on education at our faculty. But, perhaps you do not find what you are looking for quickly enough; in that case you can find your answer or ask your question using the Contact form Law. Click the ‘Contact form Law’ link to go to the website of the Contact form.

Welcome to Contact form Law; there are a lot of FAQs here for you to check out, but searching may be quicker. Click here to continue

OK, we are back again on the Student Portal Homepage, because we would show you the 2nd way to get to the Faculty Intranet with the link to the Contact form Law. Click the Help link

On the Help page you will find a lot of phone numbers and email adresses of UM Services and faculties that may be useful for you. If you scroll down, you will also come across the Law Faculty. Click here to continue

Click the LAW Intranet link Having scrolled down you will find the ‘LAW’ heading where you can follow the link to the LAW Intranet. Click the LAW Intranet link

Also if you take this route you will have to log in again one more time. Type your username and password (e.g. i1234567) and your password. Then click the Logon button. Click the Logon button

Click the My LAW link You now also enter the old MyUM environment. From here go again to the Faculty Intranet for Law students using the My LAW link. Click the My LAW link

Click the ‘Contact form Law’ link And we are back again on the Faculty intranet page for law students; the place where you can find ALL information on education at our Faculty. Now let’s have a look at how the Contact form works. Click the ‘Contact form Law’ link

Click on the language switch ”EN” at the top right of the screen Welcome back to the Contact form Law. As we (usually) enter the Dutch version by default, first change the language to English if necessary. Click on the language switch ”EN” at the top right of the screen

Click on the looking glass icon Let’s take a closer look at the Search option in the top left corner of the screen. Let’s say you want to know where and when you can find your Timetable; type in “timetable” in the Search field and press the looking glass icon to start the search. Click on the looking glass icon

Click on the correct question Now, the 2nd question in the 2 results found should give an answer to the question. Click on the correct question

Click the ASK YOUR QUESTION button So, there’s your answer. You can still go to the website shown for a full Timetable Overview, but in fact it is not necessary to go there anymore, as your timetable is fully integrated in your personal Student Portal. If the answer given is not satisfactory, you can ask the Education Office by clicking the ‘ASK YOUR QUESTION’ button. Click the ASK YOUR QUESTION button

Click the link to go to the login page As you are not logged in yet in Contact form Law, you are taken to the guest login page. Do yourself a favour and log in first, which will save you a lot of typing, gives you a better way to keep track of your questions and for the Education Office it is easier to help you. Click the link to go to the login page

At the moment the access to “asking a question” is not yet integrated in the Student Portal. But we are working hard on getting this done and some time this academic year an extra login will not be necessary anymore. But for now, you still need to log in again with your UM username and password and click on the “lock” icon to the right of the password field. Click the icon

Logging in leads you back to the FAQ’s page Logging in leads you back to the FAQ’s page. Logging in is also possible as soon as you enter the Contact form (by clicking the login link top left). Now, click on the link of the question under the “Ask your question” header.

On this page click the ASK YOUR QUESTION button.

Type in a subject and your question (both mandatory) Type in a subject and your question (both mandatory). If you need to send files as an attachment you can do so, too, using the Browse button. When ready, click the Send button. Your question will be sent to the Education Office and you will receive a confirmation message in the next screen. Click the Send button

As you can see your contact will get a reference number that you can use in later correspondence with the Education Office. All communication further will be via UM e-mail for you as a customer. You will get an answer in your email, and if you reply on that it will automatically come back into the Contact form Law system for the Education Office to deal with. But you can also keep track of your questions in Contact form Law, when you are logged in. Click the Back button

Click the MY QUESTIONS link Back in any previous screen, you can click on the MY QUESTIONS link top left in the screen. Note: This only shows when you are logged in in the Contact form Law Click the MY QUESTIONS link

You will see a list of all questions you have ever asked the Education Office, including the answers given and the status of your question. Click on the question you want to review and you will see the entire correspondence in the white area on the screen. In the blue area details about your contact are displayed. Click the BACK button

Back in any previous screen, you can leave the Contact form Law by simply closing the Tab in your browser (or by closing the browser altogether), or by moving away from the page to another website; you will then be logged out automatically; there is no logout button. Refreshing the screen using the <F5> key will also log you out. Click here to continue

How do you get your laptop tablet or smartphone connected to the wireless UM network? On the Student Portal Homepage, click the Help link again and you will immediately see a link to the ICT Service Centre. Click the link

Click the link to Manuals (in the menu left) This is the HomePage of the ICT Service Centre on the UM website. Click the link to Manuals (in the menu left)

Under the header Connections you will find all manuals that help you connect all kinds of devices wireless with the UM network. Also check out the manual on installing and using the so-called VPN connection, as you may need this to view recorded lectures from home or to access various Library facilities and resources from home.
