School Day Schedule School Day is 7:30 am – 2:40 pm 7 period day – 46 minutes per class Lunch divided into 3 sections Advisory Period Personal Learning Plans College Plans and College Choices Online Transcripts and Teacher Recommendations Interest Inventories Scheduling Extra help with classes – Senior Mentors and FAB Groups Class Meetings Speakers on Special Topics

Scheduling Basics There are year long and semester classes Typically, year long classes are counted as 1 full credit; semester classes are counted as .5 credit Freshmen schedules are fairly static – Schedule English, Math, Science and Social Studies Sign up for band, choir or orchestra vs. Guided Study Decide on physical education and health options Elective options Make sure you have doubled up semester courses Always include alternate options Be aware of fees connected with courses

Scheduling - Recap Schedule Cards from MS Counselors Take Your Completed Pathway Plan with you Select Courses – Teacher Recommendations Make sure you have noted alternate courses Print off schedule/course plan from Course Description Book (Page 5) Have teachers sign off on recommendations for advanced math or Spanish I Parent sign before turned in to middle school counselor by February 22nd
