Hats: The hats are worn by all clergy, including Bishops, priests, deacons, and sub-deacons. There are two types: pointed (shufya) and cylindrical (kamilavka). Both are always black or purple. The shufya is worn by those in the Russian tradition, married clergy wearing purple. Russian clergy may also wear a mitre (imperial crown) as a special distinction. The kamilavka is worn by all Greek clergy and as a special honor in other national churches. Bishops and priests wear a veil in the back of the same color.
