STUDENT EVALUATION GRADING BREAKDOWN: Reading Assessments: 20% Quizzes: 15% Writing Assessments: 20% Homework/Classwork: 5% Speaking Assessments: 20% Listening Assessments: 20% NOTE ON TESTS: All Chapter tests will have a performance based reading, writing, speaking, and listening component. Individual grades will be given for each section on the chapter test and entered into the respective assessment category listed above. Readings, writing, speaking and listening chapter test assessments will be weighted more than a reading, writing, speaking and listening assessment that is considered classwork.

Learning another language and being able to communicate in it requires…  Students to practice and to use the new language in the classroom and at home  Class time will be dedicated to the students using the language in small groups, pairs and with their teacher  In order to communicate in the language during class, it is imperative that students study and memorize their vocabulary and grammar rules at home  “The end” is for students to be able to communicate in another language, not to say/write words or conjugate verbs in isolation

Studying vocabulary and grammar concepts independently Listening to Spanish audio for listening assignments Visiting websites for practice (located on class School Fusion page) Using Spanish whenever the opportunity presents itself Preparing for speaking assessments Here is what you should see at home on a regular basis:
