Climate Smart Agricultural Development in the Goulburn Broken A regional climate change adaptation partnership project

Goulburn Broken Greenhouse Alliance Alliance of eight Local Governments and the Catchment Management Authority in the Goulburn Broken Region of Victoria Coordinates and supports regional responses to climate

Climate Change in the Goulburn Broken Agricultural production the basis of our rural and regional economies Livestock, horticulture, forestry, cropping, vegetable Climate change predictions: Decrease in rainfall Increase in temperature More frequent extreme weather events How will our current agricultural systems cope and adapt? What new opportunities may become available?

Project outcomes Develop a Spatial Tool to understand the geographic and temporal impacts of climate change on the agricultural landscape of the Goulburn Broken Develop an Implementation Plan to integrate adaptive responses to climate change into economic development, strategic planning and environment by project partners (Council and GBCMA) Improve regional knowledge of the impact of climate change through website and distribution of information
