4 Strategic direction for ICM Scope Our Catchments, Our Communities responds to the audits’ key findings Delivered over the next four years with actions for improving how catchment management partners work together: – Improve how ICM delivers better integrated outcomes – Directions for developing and implementing Regional Catchment Strategies Targeted consultation through November, release planned in December 2015 Vision Sustainable and productive land, water and biodiversity delivered by catchment management that is strongly community based, regionally focused and collaborative.

8 Goal 1: Greater community engagement and activity in catchment management How? Strengthen the diversity and equity of community representation on catchment management boards. Strengthen community engagement in regional planning and priority setting.

9 Goal 2: Better connection between state, regional and local planning How? Ensure alignment between state-level plans for land, water, biodiversity and regional catchment strategies.

10 Goal 3: Strengthened implementation of RCS How? Provide long-term funding dedicated to the implementation of Regional Catchment Strategy priorities. Use regional roundtables to engage regional partners in priority setting, allocation of funds and leveraging.

11 Goal 4: Clearer roles, strengthened accountability and regional coordination How? Clarify roles and responsibilities of key agencies in catchment management Strengthen coordination between key catchment management partners. Improve accountability of catchment management partners implementing regional catchment strategies.

12 Goal 5: Improved monitoring and reporting How? Improve state and regional catchment reporting using a consistent set of indicators.
